#433 - Yakko Shimada Hair @ SaNaRae From Kisetsu

"As with many things in the geisha world the hairstyles of the geisha and maiko are ritualised. Special meaning and seasonality is attached to each hairstyle and much can be told about the girl simply by reviewing her hair.
Many of the traditional hair styles worn by geisha today were modern fashion in the Edo and Meiji periods. Today they are worn mainly by traditional artisans like geisha and kabuki actors. The styles take hours of waxing, teasing and construction and are designed to last many days. While maiko are expected to grow and use their real hair for these styles, wigs are often used by geisha and dancers for practicality." Amaya Booker, Cyber Goth Geek - Geisha of Japan
I had to look up the information on this hairstyle because I knew there was some significance behind it. As do all the hair styles I've had the pleasure of blogging from kisetsu. I did find, along with the above information, that this used to be worn by married women in Japan. And the geisha also wore this formal hairstyle for dance recitals.
I also found information on the new updated hairstyle in the kisetsu store, the Ofuku hair! Which I do not have a picture of just yet. But surely that will be soon!

The kisetsu - Yakko Shimada is a new style at the SaNaRae event until March 18th.
KISETSU - YAKKO SHIMADA HAIR - SIDE VIEW
There is a ribbon (and pin) on the top in front of the bun and beads around the hair in the back along with a wrap underneath held by a pin. On this style, using the accessories hud, you can change the colors on those 4 parts and the hair colors on a separate hud. This hair is also resizable via the color hud and you can move it to fit your head as needed.
KISETSU - YAKKO SHIMADA HAIR - REAR VIEW
Also seen in the first picture are cosmetics by *Booty's Beauty*. New this week is the *Booty's Beauty* Catwa Thunder Makeup, which includes the Eyeliner, Lashes and Lipstick. And again I am using the *Booty's Beauty* Catwa - Punk Pixie Brows.

You only have a week to visit the SaNaRae event so don't forget to get by and pick up this gorgeous hairstyle for your roleplays or just because!

SaNaRae - Ends March 18th

#394 - Munchies In The Town Of Kurenai

Found a cute cafe at the Kurenai event and then had the munchies! And considering the name of the cafe, I am not really wondering why, so I started with some hot chocolate. I know but it's a seasonal drink I love and its sweet!
KISETSU - OFUKU HAIR @ KURENAI
The sim is lovely here. And lots to walk thru and see. Even past the vendor areas (FYI). Kurenai runs thru Jan 8th. Here is a closer look at the kisetsu - Ofuku hair.
KISETSU - OFUKU HAIR @ KURENAI
The Ofuku hair comes in one size but is re-sizable via the hud, and is offered in many colorful options. There is also an included hud for the ribbon on the crown of the hair and the fabric on the back of the hair bun. It does not include a hair base, but if you can find a tintable one for the various colors, that would be so great (I am looking for one I like). I did not try the hair without a hair base.
KISETSU - HIRAUCHI KANZUCHI GACHA RARES & COMMONS
@ SANARAE
Also from kisetsu and currently at SaNaRae, is the kisetsu - Hirauchi Kanzuchi gacha. From this gacha you can win various kinds of hair accessories as seen above. There are the Tsuki Rares and the  commons in either gold or silver. And seen below are the hair comb commons in the Hirauchi Kanzuchi gacha.
KISETSU - HIRAUCHI KANZUCHI GACHA - COMBS
(FROM TOP TO BOTTOM: WOODEN - PINE & PLUM - YUKIWA)
There are 9 commons and 2 rares in this gacha, all beautifully made and all will accentuate your hair styles. SaNaRae runs thru December 18th. See the gacha key past the credits below.

Then I spied the food across the street...yes!

#357 - Introducing kisetsu a.k.a. Anachron @ SaNaRae & The Kurenai (New Event) - October Round

First, with the more familiar event, SaNaRae. Anachron has been a regular participant in this event. It will still be a regular participant but now under the name of kisetsu. This will be the new brand name of this particular splinter from Anachron. Instead of the Anachron name (which will cease to exist eventually) you will now see the Japanese cultural items under the new brand name of kisetsu. Same great items just a new name!
KISETSU - KAGO - AUTUMN - NASU USAGI
What you see above is an ozashiki kago that is similar to those taken to engagement by geisha and maiko (apprentice geisha). It comes with a hud and poses that will work with Bento hands. I am using the Belleza Freya Body above and it does not have bento hands. It has two poses for the hands and use of one or both arms to hold the kago. There are also different fabrics, basket and cord colors to choose from and customize your kago, and also an extra feature that allows you to add your own label embroidery to the corner. You will find this kago and three more at the current SaNaRae event which ends on October 18th.

Anachron is, as I write this, splintering into four themed separate themed stores all with new brand names as follows:

kisetsu - for traditional(ish) japanese items.
HashBang - for cyberpunk/urban/punkish stuff.
Dreaming Thicket - for fantasy and (pre-20th century) historical items.
Maraschino - for 20th century retro and vintage.

So be on the lookout for these newly branded items from the previously familiar Anachron!

KISETSU - TSUMAMI KANZASHI (EXCLUSIVE COLOR - LEFT & WHITE - RIGHT)
For the new Kurenai event, kisetsu has created kanzashi (hair accessories) in the shape of kiku (chrysanthemum) which is seasonal for October. The exclusive color (red/yellow/green) will only ever be available from this event. There are three pieces to each set and they are available in one exclusive color and four more color combinations. Kurenai is a new event for Japanese/Asian Fashion.

EXCLUSIVE KANZASHI COLOR - ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE KURENAI EVENT

And the atmosphere here has this event looking very mysterious, spooky and beautiful! I had to grab a quick picture of it as the sunset:

#231 - Much Mongolian @ GENRE

Come explore the Mongolian culture with us in this month's GENRE! And not to worry, it still runs thru Jan 12th. So you have a little time yet to come and find the treasures here at GENRE's Mongols  round.

I have a Ger/Yurt from Anachron. It is a portable round tent used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Pretty cool! My mom always called our family Nomads when she wrote postcards on our vacations! We could have used this on our vacations! The tent is covered with skins or felt for the walls and roof. These from Anachron come in 5 different colors and markings. And they are pretty roomy! Just take a look!
GENRE - ANACHRON - MESH GER/YURT - RED
GENRE - ANACHRON - MESH GER/YURT - RED (INSIDE)
I am in there to show the height and I am a pretty tall avatar. So this is the inside of the Red Ger, they are the same inside. There are two types of Ger included, one with physics for taller avatars and one for a regular size avatar. These are available in 5 colors and here they are:
