A Benefit for the American Cancer Society

Celebrating its eleventh year, Fantasy Faire 2019 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, role-players and performers in the virtual world. From Thursday, April 18 to Sunday May 5, treat yourself to shopping, dance and theater performances, DJ parties, auctions, questing, our Literary Festival, fantasy art, events and role-playing as thousands of Second Life residents and creators bring their own visions together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.

Fantasy Faire has always officially lasted eleven days, and in recent years we’ve been fortunate to have a few extra days added. This year we’re making it official: our formal programming will still conclude with our One Team dance party marathon on Monday, April 29th, but now we invite you to join us for an additional week of shopping, questing, and exploring as the Fairelands will be open through Sunday, May 5th. That’s a total of eighteen days of the Faire – and you never know when something unexpected might happen in that final week!

As always, you’ll find fantasy avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets and exclusive items available from almost 200 of Second Life’s top Fantasy Creators across ten stunning regions designed by some of the visionary artists behind many of the hottest spots on the Second Life destination guide.

In addition to the ten shopping regions there will also be six Faireland realms that take us beyond commerce, from a Memorial Garden to the Fairelands Quest, the Literary Festival, Performance Stages, from Art Galleries to the Worldling Collection. These bring the Fairelands count for 2019 to sixteen regions, just waiting for you to explore them.

Fantasy Faire 2019 will be open to the public April 18 – May 5. The SLurl to the event will, as always, be found on the website on our opening day. We welcome you to come and join the story.

#305 - Castle Mall by Anachron @ The Twisted Fairytales Event

ANACHRON - DARK CITADEL CASTLE GATE @ TWISTED FAIRYTALES 

Today I have a rather large item to blog for you. For those who love castles or are looking for a Castle Mall, Anachron has some pieces to create just that and you can see them inworld all set up at the Twisted Fairytales RFL Event! Come take a look at this fantastic build! I kinda cheated here to show you this and took pictures at the event itself since this build is huge! 800+ prims when fully rezzed! What you see above is the Anachron - Dark Citadel Castle Gate (gates not included, only the walls of the gate). This section includes the two towers on either side of the Gate. The actual castle buildings are the build, not the walkways and extras you see around it. I will show you the pieces in a bit. Lots of pics to come!

DARK CITADEL TOWER SHOP, CASTLE SHOPS & OUTER CORNER

Here is another shot, and all of these are with added windlight for the pictures. It's much brighter than this at the event. This is from the left: Castle Tower Shop, Castle Shops and the Outer Corner pieces. They all fit very neatly together with the shadows on the sides seem to me to make it much easier to place them into interlocking positions. To make it all look seamless and one full build. The rezzer does rez the complete mall between 800 - 900 prims total. 

DARK CITADEL CORNER SHOP

You can walk along the top and thru the top level towers too. This is all stone textures on the Anachron -Dark Citadel buildings. There is a second lighter version available at the event as well, which you will see further below. This picture is the Dark Citadel Corner Shop Which is one of the larger shops in the build. There are separate stairways pieces to go up to the top level that can be added. But the shops below are all walled and separate from each other. 

DARK CITADEL TRI CONNECT SECTION

This is the Dark Citadel Tri Connect section piece. It includes the stairs to lead to the top level here. And there I am on the top level over the Castle Shop in the middle so you can get an understanding of the scale or size of this build. Now for the other pieces!

#303 - Preparing For The Ball

The final Masquerade Ball is coming up soon (among other dances/events) and I needed to try on more gowns to figure out one to wear and I came across two more beautiful gowns. One from ~JMK~ and one from Spyralle! Now as you've already read, there will be a Masquerade Ball and other DJ Events, but you can also find so many other things to do here at the Unmasking A Cure Medieval Faire. There are tournaments in Archery and Jousting, an Obstacle Course, Horse Riding around the faire grounds on some of the very finest of horses you've ever seen! Tournament information can be found on the UACMF Tournaments & Events Schedule. And lots of shopping with exclusive items found only here at the UAC Medieval Faire! And time is running out! The faire ends on June 18th so don't miss out. Now, on to the gowns!

SPYRALLE ELYS PURPLE

The Spyralle - Elys Purple is just one of many colors in this gown you can choose from in their shop at the UAC Medieval Faire. I am also wearing the HHVET Victoriana - Peaceful Harvest Necklace. The gown comes in 3 Fitted Mesh and 5 Standard Mesh sizes, I am wearing it on the Maitreya Lara Mesh Body using one of the Fitted Mesh sizes. You can find Spyralle in Wrenbury Court at the UACMF.

I also decided to try out this Exclusive AbFab Hope Skin in Caramel (w/Makeup). This skin is very pretty and has a very intricate make up design around the eyes and the sides of the face. Very pretty indeed! It comes in three tones, Milk, Peach and Caramel. Omega, Maitreya & CATWA appliers are included. Each one comes with two versions, Natural or with the make up. This skin is shown on an [AK] Mesh Head Eretica Vers. 1.5 (BENTO) and the Maitreya Lara Mesh Body. You can find Ab.Fab on St. John's Road just outside the Village Square at the UACMF. #292 - Remembering Those We've Lost And Those Still Fighting

FOLKLORIC [F] ASHARA'S DRESS (GOLD & SEAFOAM)

There are many areas to explore at the Medieval Faire, but one in particular is very beautiful not just because of it's scenery, but because of it's meaning. The Hope Garden. Whether you go here to remember those you've lost or to hope and/or pray for the best outcomes for those who are struggling and living with cancer, it is a very peaceful area of the Medieval Faire. There are benches around to sit and take in the sights around you, or sit and pray or send good thoughts and vibes to those who are living with cancer. Those in your life, in friend's lives, or just in general all those who are living with a cancer diagnosis and/or those whom we've lost. 

The butterflies flutter softly around the Hope Garden among all the flora and fauna. There is a waterfall across from the deck as you enter the garden. I donned this full length gown from Folkloric, the Ashara's Dress (outfits for the menfolk too!) and the matching Circlet, and decided to visit the Hope Garden today to do some reflection and meditation. This dress comes in two color versions and there are demos in the Folkloric stall to try before you buy.

I myself live with a breast cancer diagnosis and although I don't really try to think too much on it, I do still often pray for continued improving health for myself and those I know who are living with their diagnosis. And it is during the quiet moments of the day that this comes to my mind to remember to do this. Our lives are so hectic and busy and technology keeps us constantly connected, so places like The Hope Garden help me to slow down and remember to ask for continued strength and improving health as I continue on my journey. Why not visit The Hope Garden at the Medieval Faire to slow down a bit and reflect on whomever might be in your life that needs your prayers and well wishes? 

THE LITTLE BAT - POTION NECKLACE GACHA (COURAGE SHOWN)

This is the Courage Potion Necklace you can win from The Little Bat gacha at the UAC Medieval Faire. There are many more to win, trade and collect in this gacha machine. This is only one item that can be found in the !TLB stall, there are many more items to choose from, I hope you will take a look! 

FOLKLORIC - THE HUNTSMAN (NAVY)

Meanwhile, the man was out checking out the arenas on the fairegrounds to see what if any challenges they presented. This is the Sword Melee Arena which is on the Activities Sim at the Medieval Faire. You will have to do some climbing to get to this area which is behind the Jousting Arena and up the hill after crossing the horse track. I wonder if I will hear his thoughts on the area when he returns? He wears a Navy blue outfit called The Huntsman which is also from Folkloric. There are two color versions of this outfit for men and they come with both hood up and hood down versions in each package. There is a demo to try before you buy as well.
As seen above, there are more activities around the faire that you may not know about, Jousting, Horse races, Archery and more. There is a rather large sign showing all the scheduled activities that will be happening during the faire and you can also see it on the Tournament Schedule found here. There is also a Schedule of Events at the faire.

LADY MCALISTER OF SKYE DRESS BY MACMORAGH AN GABHA

I was out taking a stroll around the faire grounds and found my way to the Tavern in the Cave. But, before entering I had to stop and take in the view near the water's edge and gaze at the ruins not far from the mainland.

This dress, Lady McAlister of Skye, is from MacMoragh an Gabha. It comes in 5 Standard Mesh sizes and is shown here on the Maitreya Lara Mesh Body. The skirt is a beautiful red plaid with a brown inset in the front, the underbust corset is a dark tealish green and a peasant top in cream (all one piece). You will find it here at the Unmasking A Cure Medieval Faire (Opens May 19th). This purchase is a 100% donation to Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. MacMoragh an Gabha also has more in his shop to choose from for both the Men and the Ladies and weapons of all kinds as well.

Unmasking A Cure Relay For Life Team (#38) presents the Third Annual Medieval Faire, running from May 19 though June 18, 2017. The faire, similar to a real world "Ren Faire", offers medieval tournaments in jousting, sword play, magic, archery, and horse racing. There are over 50 merchants supporting Relay For Life, each featuring items that will be sold for 100% profit to Relay. On the entertainment front, a dozen live performers and many DJs are all donating their time and talents to Relay For Life. Don't miss this exciting month-long event; try your hand at all the sports, find that perfect outfit or decor item, or enjoy live musicians and DJ sets!
